Jelly bracelets: innocent accessory or provocative wear?

Popular boutiques across the nation cover their walls with them, young girls and boys alike wear them in stacks, so what's the controversy all about? These bracelets have been called everything from innocent accessory to dangerous jewelry item.

It started when NBC aired a report that kids were wearing them as "sex tickets," certain young people were playing a game in which the boys would snap one off of a girls wrist - and that's supposed to mean he's entitled to sex.

But in many schools kids hadn't even heard of this game. Girls are wearing them because they have a unique feel and they can stack bright colors on their wrists. Boys are wearing them because they can find ones that aren't too flashy.

It really depends on the area you're in - as this game was discovered in certain school districts, and found to be virtually unknown in others. People of different age groups wear them for different reasons, and it doesn't hurt for parents to be aware of a potential situation.
